My final New Year-type post, I promise! I’m very much a mood reader, and therefore I’ve always been bad at sticking to the TBRs that I set myself (which is why you only ever see them on my blog for very short-term events like readathons and holidays), but with a whole year ahead of me, I think I can be fairly sure that I’ll be in the mood for lots of different types of book at one point or another.
These are the books that I most want to have read by the end of the year; books that, whenever I see them on my shelves, make me think, Why haven’t I read you yet? You’ve probably seen quite a few of them mentioned (repeatedly) on those aforementioned short-term TBRs, since I keep meaning to read them. In fact, almost all these books are ones that I meant to read pretty promptly after buying them, until life, or other books, or reading slumps video games distracted me, leaving them by the wayside… 😥
So, in no particular order, I present my 2016 book bucket list!
1) Clariel by Garth Nix
2) A Dark Horn Blowing by Dahlov Ipcar
3) The Battle of the Sun by Jeanette Winterson
4) The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss
5) The Girl of Fire & Thorns Stories by Rae Carson
6) Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
7) Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
8) Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton
9) Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater
10) The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
11) The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente
12) Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
13) Magnus Chase & the Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan
14) The Copper Gauntlet by Holly Black & Cassandra Clare

I have already used up my lifetime supply of hashtags. (I really hope I don’t ever create a Twitter account because I am going to regret that comment.)
